The average American uses 650 lbs. of paper per year.

Paper and paperboard make up the largest component of solid waste by weight. In the U.S., over 40% of municipal solid waste is paper - about 71.8 million tons each year.

By recycling one ton (2,000 lbs.) of paper, we save: 17 trees; 6,953 gallons of water; 463 gallons of oil; 587 pounds of air pollution; 3.06 cubic yards of landfill space and 4,077 Kilowatt hours of energy.

Friends, Clients and Associates,

The current, stark reports on global climate change have inspired us to step up as a company and take part in the world-wide effort to minimize waste and actively monitor our environmental impact.

A year ago we implemented the "paperless document project", publishing invoices and proposals online or in pdf format in an effort to minimize the amount of waste we produced. Although it is working, it is not enough.

In our recent years of business we have produced literally tons of print materials i.e. ; Brochures, Business Cards, Flyers, Posters etc. all of which, no matter how beautiful, ultimately end up in the trash. We feel it is our duty and responsibility as your source for various print materials to try and curb this waste stream. We ask you to join us in helping to make a positive impact in our community and the world.

As of February of 2007 on we will be running all print pieces on at least 30% post consumer paper. This is just the start, as we educate ourselves on what our options are for creating and producing more "green projects" we will implement changes and pass that knowledge to our clients and friends. We plan to research Green Printing, Sustainably Harvested Virgin Fiber, non-wood fiber paper, Processed Chlorine Free (PCF) paper and soy and other vegetable-based inks . We will also be adding "recycle" logos and information on all printed materials whenever possible.

We are implementing an office paper collection program. We will be using recycled paper in our printer and we will be recycling as much hardware as possible. Of course our "paperless document project" is and will remain in full effect.

What does this mean to you? Well to put it simply, increased production cost and value.
That is to say, along with paying more you get piece of mind, a warm fuzzy feeling knowing
that your company's materials are eco-friendly and as sustainable as possible.

We are working on a discount plan for clients that opt for producing "Green Projects" with us, such as using soy or vegetable based inks, 100% recycled or sustainable materials and opting for folds and cuts instead of glues.

Over the next year we will be intently researching options for our clients including paper and ink choices, we have already sought out and ordered swatch books from some of the top eco-friendly paper makers. Of course finding the best possible prices for green printing and production is key. We will become active in our communities coming up with and researching ideas to reduce waste and encouraging the City of Vancouver to begin a Business Recycling Program. We welcome your input and ideas in this process.

Green printing is a new concept to us, it's something that has been on our minds but we believed our options were limited and we weren't sure how to approach it. Completely aligns with our personal and professional beliefs. We ask for your support and patience as we take the time to figure out way's we can help the community and environment

Thank you for your time and support.
